What does summer mean to you?

To me, it used to mean

🥺 Working 8-10 house a day during a week, cooking and cleaning, and trying to cram summer days in the 2 hours we had before my daughter had to go to bed.

😴 It used to mean not being able to stay up late or sleep in early because we had work and my daughter had camp. Every. Single. Week day.

THEN CHANGE HAPPENED.

Now the question is what could a real summer mean to you?

Here are the things we have accomplished in this tiny short summer of freedom.

🌮 My daughter found wonder in cooking and trying new food (hence the pic!)

🤑 I built a business empowering o ther moms to work towards their own financial freedom, while sharing good wine!

🏊‍♀️ My daughter gained the confidence to finally swim with her head under the water.

🎉 We will be able to celebrate my dads birthday with him for the first time in 15 years due to having freedom to travel.
So much refreshing sleep and fun late family nights!

Because this is just a small part of how it’s changed my life.

In all honesty, I was focusing on myself when I took this picture. When I looked at it, I started down that dumb mom path that so many of us take where we blame ourselves for not thinking of our kids 100% of the time.

I wanted to look nice, and my daughter always seems to get a good angle in pictures, since she is the cutest thing ever.

Besides my business, my daughter really is my who focus right now. So I spent 2 seconds ensuring I looked good in the shot. And I started shaming myself for doing it.

You know what My daughter said when I showed her the picture? “That’s a great picture of us!”

So lay off the mom guilt and focus on yourself a little bit.
